Girl Scouts Gold Award Project (2024-2025)

"Practice Makes Perfect: Mastering Geometry" is a math resource site designed to empower students by providing multiple approaches to solving geometry problems.

As a tutor, I often see how my tutees struggle with geometry. I have noticed how geometry blends a certain level of creativity and logic. In current textbooks and other resources, there seems to be a lack of diverse approaches to solving geometry problems. Inspired by the subjectivity of dance, this became the central idea of my Girl Scout Gold Award project. I realized the one-size-fits-all method often leaves students unable to find a path that resonates with their unique way of thinking.

Inspired by this gap, I set out to create a math resource website that not only makes geometry more understandable through additional practice problems, but allows students to find approaches that work best for them.

Currently, I’m working to promote the website to be sustainable on a national level to ensure accessibility for years to come.

Girl Scouts Silver Award Project (2021-2022)

For my Girl Scout Silver Award, I collaborated with two other Girl Scouts to design and build a library book nook/patio at a local middle school, Tierra Linda Middle School.

Our goal was to create a space that would foster a sense of community within the school and provide students with a welcoming environment to connect over their shared love of books, collaborate, and do homework.

We noticed the school lacked an inviting area where students could gather before, during, or after school to read, study, and build friendships. By designing the space to feel warm and accessible with student-recommended books and comfortable seating, we hoped to encourage a culture of reading and connection.
